The National Organization for Women, the largest feminist organization in the United States, works to achieve equality for women in all areas of society. It campaigns for economic equality, reproductive freedom, an end to racism and bigotry, and the elimination of violence against women. NOW also supports affordable housing and medical care for women and better child care facilities. The organization encourages women to seek public office at all levels and raises money for political candidates of either sex who support equality for women. NOW publishes National Now Times, a bimonthly newsletter.
